About the Artist

My name is Vanessa Mercado and I am a LA based artist. Growing up I've always had an affinity to having a creative outlet, and with that I began to draw, starting off with animals and dinosaurs. 
Nowadays I have taken up painting after years of thinking that I did not have the skillset to venture much outside of drawing. I have fallen in love with the medium and use it to express themes of power, primitivity, and hypocrisies. Drawing inspiration from my love of the natural world and current events I have allowed myself to explore myself artistically. 
I plan on continuing to grow my artistic career I know I am only just beginning.
